Cheerio Arisaig

So our winter in the Highlands is over. In February we gained fame at last with an mention in the Diosecan News for Argyll & the Isles: "The Christmas Day Service in St Finian's, Kinlochmoidart was absolutely packed and a huge success. A three piece group, Julie, Mandy and Dave on guitar led the singing." This seems so long ago now!

We also lead worship with Julie and Tracey at the Open Heaven Service where folk come together from other fellowships and many travel for several hours to attend this evening service that is hosted by church groups from Oban to Mallaig and beyond.

We introduced you in an earlier letter to Anne of Soay and her husband Robert. We have encouraged each other through e-mails since we came to Arisaig. Anne came to faith when the Lord revealed himself to her when she wasn't looking. We really hoped that we might meet them but the sea is too dangerous to sail over in the winter.

First communion

However we got to go over on the mail boat. The couple rowed out to meet us and Anne had communion with people (apart from her husband) for the first time since she came to know Jesus. It was a wonderful experience and we also got to see seals, a sea otter and several birds and Dave piloted the boat home.

Finally on Thursday Dave asked a new friend around and by the time he left he had given his life to the Lord and we had communion with him too.

Here are the latest short messages we shared with the folk here.

The Spirit knows all things. We also did a teaching on speaking in tongues after which our friend got baptised in the Holy Spirit... Praise Jesus!

We have spent a few days having farewell meet ups, meals and parties. It has been easy to make friends as we have had a story to share and the music. So myself and Captain Morgan will be back in our homeland for Mother's Day. Hope to see some of you soon.

On Monday 12th we are starting a Discipleship study. So subscribe to the Jeremiah Tree Youtube site and share with the new believers and seekers that you know. Greetings from Dave and Mandy xx
